FAMILY IMMIGRATION

MARRIAGE/FIANCÉ VISAS

A K-1 fiancé visa is required in order to bring a fiancé to the United States for the purpose of marriage. Citizenship through marriage specifically, can be a gruesome process. Form I-130 will be filed to Petition for Alien Relative and I-485 will be filed to register as a permanent resident.

SAME-SEX MARRIAGES

The policies and procedures for same-sex couples is identical to that of opposite-sex couples.

MILITARY-IMMIGRANT RELATIVES

Applied to active duty/veteran’s spouses, children, and parents, these individuals can now apply for “parole status that will allow them to stay in the United States and suspend deportations. The parole Status is authorized in one-year increments and allows relatives to adjust for permanent legal status.
